Week 2:
Today was a slow day. I got up and started to organize all of the raw footage. I named all of the large video clips that I want to use in the short film so that I can cut the large clips into smaller clips. I wanted to get some of the clips that need to be translated onto a disk so that Anna, the Spanish teacher, could give her students the disk and have them help translate. I didn't get to this, because I found out that I need Quicktime Pro 7 in order to do this. I am going to talk to a couple of friends to see if they can help me, or I might use someone else's computer to preform this job that needs to be done ASAP. I was successful, however, in importing more raw footage onto my computer. This took a long time to complete because I discovered that I didn't have a firewire. I went to Staples and bought one and then I began to import at home. I learned that in order to make things move along faster and more officiant that i need t prepare and make an agenda on Sunday before I start work on Monday.
Today I will have worked 10 hrs. and overall including last week I will have worked 20 hrs.
The question of the week: Since I work at home I would have to say that the dress code it very casual and quiet but the overall environment to very serious. I have a lot to do in a very short amount of time. My mentor and I created a very tight and strict agenda for me to abide by. The environment is very different from school because I am working at home and have to be much more organized and self motivated. The good thing about working in the comfort of my own home is there are no distractions from classmates. This overall experience is interesting, challenging and very educational.
